Is life starting to feel mundane? Are you starting to wonder what it’s all for and desperately trying to figure out how to have more joy in life?

You’re not alone. So many of us struggle with this.

Why aren’t we happy? Why are we so frustrated all the time? But the bigger question for many of us, “Why am I always broke and sad?”

There’s a saying that I hear and read often that kinda drives me crazy.

‘The way to joy is to be here now.’ 

Sounds simple enough but trust me, it’s not. It doesn’t answer the one million questions going on in our heads every minute of the day.

Be here now.

The be all to end all of quotes. Wouldn’t it be nice if it was that simple?

Are you having trouble finding joy?

You’re not alone. Life is stressful at!

It is! Get up, get ready for work, get everyone else ready, work all day, come home cook dinner, clean and then before you know it, it’s bedtime. Where the heck did the day go?

Then you lay in bed and toss and turn all night because your mind is going a million miles an hour.

Why can’t we be happy like the Jones’ (damn those people)? They always seem like they got their act together. Trust me, they don’t.  Nobody’s everyday life is perfect, not even the Jones’.

So I’ve dug deep for this one and came up with 7 easy ways to have more joy in life, more abundance and with less stress and more love. Enjoy!

7 ways to have more joy in life

Stop comparing your life to others.

We stress ourselves out because we think our life should be like our neighbours’ or your co-workers’. No, it doesn’t and they have struggles too. Don’t think you have to keep up with everyone else. You are doing the best you can with what you have until you learn or have more.

Stop comparing.

Be grateful now

Like right this very second. Be happy with what you have, even if it’s so little. You have a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in, food to eat and eyes to read this blog. That’s more than many people in the world have. Be grateful for all you have and you will surely attract more goodness into your everyday life.

Mirror mirror on the wall

Self-love and self-confidence talk anyone? When was the last time you did this? Took a few minutes to look at yourself in the mirror and appreciate the magnificence of who you really are. We don’t love and appreciate ourselves enough.

Go talk nice to yourself!

Playtime

Turn the TV off, put away the electronics and go play. Go feed ducks in a pond, go play with puppies in a shelter, go do something that makes you feel like a kid again. Leave all your stress, cares and woes behind, unplug and play. Our inner child is screaming to be released.

You won’t even believe how therapeutic this is.

Dear Diary…

When was the last time you journaled but more importantly, when was the last time you wrote out all the shit that no longer serves you and released it? All those toxic thoughts you keep thinking are poisoning your soul and hurting any and all your chances of being happy, abundant and having more joy in life.

Those thoughts are thorns in your side. Time to let ’em go. Get them all out.

Switch off negative Nancy

You know who she is. She’s constantly whining and complaining about how horrible life is. Tell her to shut.up. You must immediately catch yourself when she shows up and switch your thoughts. Like immediately. Don’t stay and wallow there. It will suck you in a deep ugly vortex.

Switch her off and remind yourself of the things you are grateful for!

Goodbye comfort zone

Is there something you’ve really been wanting to do but you keep talking yourself out of it because you’re actually afraid of doing it? Go do it. Get off your couch, out of your comfort zone, face your fear and tackle that dream.

Many have claimed to have found their life purpose just on the other side of their comfort zone and you know what happens when you find your purpose?

Yup. You will have more joy in life, more abundance and love and peace and oh so many other good things.

Those these 7 tips may seem a tad overwhelming at first but if you truly want to change your life and have more joy in life and abundance/love and all that other good stuff, just try and follow some of these tips and watch what happens.

The more you do them, the richer your life will be. Trust me on this one.
