You know when you’re tripping through life and everything is amazing and then out of nowhere crap happens? Don’t you hate when that happens? You’re like “what the hell life, what did I do to deserve this?” It’s hard to stay positive when crap happens. Yup it sure is, but it’s not impossible.
I like to use my life examples so you can see some of the stuff I have gone through, how I dealt with it and maybe it will enlighten you or give you an a-ha moment so next time you deal with crap, you’ll be able to handle it like a trooper (or something like that).
The Bank Account Fraud Nightmare
Oh such fun this was, and still is. So here I am living in sunny Guatemala, loving my life hard and suddenly out of the blue, I notice my bank account has no money in it and someone has helped themselves to all my money.
You’re kidding me, right?
Now this obviously sounds like the worst thing ever but what’s even worse about it is that my account is in Canada and trying to resolve anything between North America and Central America banks apparently is next to impossible because, you know, communication is difficult (can you feel the sarcasm there?).
Anyway….it’s 3 months later, I still don’t have a bank account or bank card, and the banks are still *trying to resolve this issue Miss Ursano*.
Yup. Regardless of their endless promises, I stayed as positive as I could. I knew this had to be resolved sooner or later.
So now what?
Good question. Now what? Life just goes on. There’s nothing I can do about it and I’m certainly not going to ruin my days being angry about this or frustrated (though it can be a tad frustrating at times just thinking about it) over it. I have to let go of this situation and trust that it will be handled and resolved in my favour. That’s all I can do.
Oh, and stay positive. Why would I waste my energy being negative? That certainly won’t get me anywhere. Best to just stay positive, because you know, this can be a tough world sometimes, and know that it will all be ok in the end.
And then there was that time….
My so called friend stole $1000 of my money while I was in the air flying to Guatemala almost two years ago. Oh that was a hard blow. Wait, I thought you were my friend?
Thanx. I cursed him for a few months trying to get my money back and all I got were empty promises, lies and then eventually silence… #goodtimes.
So how do you stay positive when something THAT terrible happens? I mean $1000 is an awful lot of money! I forgave him, sent him love and reminded myself that it is me who can sleep each night with a clear conscious. I pity those who can’t because they are…well, jerks.
Seeking positivity on that one was tough and it took awhile but I don’t let it get to me anymore. There’s nothing I can do about that. What’s done is done. It’s just money, right? It’s easy to replace…isn’t it?
Let it gooooooooooo……!!! Stay positive!
Sometimes you just gotta let stuff go in order to have peace of mind. The only, and best, path to freedom and peace of mind is through forgiveness and maintaining a positive attitude.
Staying angry or full of hate towards anyone who caused you grief or stress will only make you sick. Seriously, physically, emotionally and mentally sick.
Negativity does that to you. Positivity won’t.
When you stay negative and focus on all the crap, guess what happens? More horrible things happen. Yup. That’s not to say that bad things won’t happen if you stay positive but I guarantee, LESS bad things will happen when you do.
You have got to put a smile on your face, hold your head up high and just walk away. Know that no matter what, things will turn around and get better. They will. You must believe that.
Staying positive in a cruel world sometimes is the hardest thing you will ever do, but trust me, it produces awesome results.
I wonder if the banks are sending smoke signals to each other. Maybe that’s why it’s taking so long?
